2010 SUMMER IMPROVEMENTS AT BRISTOL MOUNTAIN
We are pleased to annouce that in May, Ken Keenan and our mountain crew began clearing a new trail which starts at the elbow near the bottom of the existing North Star trail (now Upper North Star) and feeds in to the base of the Galaxy Express. This 2,600 foot trail called "Lower North Star" is an intermediate level slope averaging 120 feet wide and offering a diverse sloping grade for intermediate level skiers and riders. Snowmaking pipe and 15 tower-mounted Areco fanguns will be installed as well as lights for evening skiing and riding. The addition of the Lower North Star trail brings the Bristol Mountain trail network to a total of 34 slopes and trails. Since we have added the Lower North Star trail to this area, we are also increasing the uphill capacity with the addition of more chairs to the Galaxy Express.
This summer, we will continue with ongoing maintenance and repairs which will included repainting the Sunset Double Chair, resealing portions of the parking lot, installing new carpeting in the Guest Services Office, improvements to food services in the Main Lodge, and redesigning our website and online shopping cart.
